I have worked in communication my entire career spanning public relations and events to employee communication and change programmes. I understand that when you call in external support, you want someone who 'knows their stuff', can quickly absorb what your organisation is about and gets on with the job with the minimum of fuss.

After an early career in PR, I specialised in internal communication, heading up the function in Bristol & West and Orange. I’ve improved established internal comms teams and set things up from scratch. I have trained and coached newly appointed communicators and been a mentor for the Institute of Internal Communications.

With strong writing skills, I have edited many employee publications, organised successful events and introduced a wide range of effective communication channels. Face to face has been a particular focus and I have established several processes - both in-house and for clients. This included training the line managers who were key to its success.

Good communication is essential for sensitive and difficult change programmes and can make a big difference to the speed and success of such programmes. Often such projects can overwhelm the already busy in-house team, who need to find some reliable extra resource to manage the workload. I've led change communications for projects such as re-structurings, staff reductions and re-brandings as well as a complex acquisition and multi-national integration programme.

I am used to working in fast-moving and evolving situations and managing different stakeholder requirements. Above all else, I will focus on the business goals and deliver high quality communication.
